On June 27, 2025, Corpus Christi for Unity and Peace hosted the powerful “Fight for Life” event in Indianapolis, raising $5,700 to support Voices for Life’s mission to protect the sanctity of life. The event drew prolife Christian faithful, volunteers, and pro-life leaders, including Mark Lee Dickson, founder of the Sanctuary Cities for the Unborn Initiative, Indiana House Representative Becky Cash, and Indiana Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith. United not by compromise but by an unwavering commitment to truth, attendees rallied to protect the unborn and stand for truth.

The evening’s theme underscored the ongoing battle to protect the innocent and the need for resolute conviction in the face of cultural and political challenges. Lt. Governor Beckwith set the tone, declaring, “Unity is important, but what’s more important is unity around the truth.” He emphasized that the fight for the unborn persists despite the 2022 Dobbs decision, which overturned 50 years of federal abortion precedent. “The fight is not over, it is just really, honestly is just getting started.”

Voices for Life: Champions of Truth and Transparency

Voices for Life’s critical work of Voices for Life, which has been instrumental in ensuring transparency around abortion practices in Indiana Beckwith highlighted their efforts to access Terminated Pregnancy Reports, initially blocked by the state’s health agency and some politicians. With support from Attorney General Todd Rokita these reports were made available, yet through an injunction from two abortion activists access to the TPRs have been further delayed – thus tying up the matter in the courts.  Voices for Life, backed by the Thomas More Society, continues its legal battle to ensure accountability.

The $5,700 raised will empower Voices for Life to continue advocating for the preborn, supporting expectant mothers, and hold the government accountable for transparent abortion reporting.

Unity Around Truth: A Christian Imperative

Lt Governor Beckwith’s message of unity around truth, not compromise, is deeply rooted in in scripture (John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life”). He warned against misguided unity, citing Nazi Germany’s unification around evil in 1935: “They were unified, but they were unified around evil.” For Christians, true unity aligns with God’s will, prioritizing justice, righteousness, and the sanctity of life.

Beckwith rejected calls to tolerate evil or embrace abortion, arguing that such compromise leads to societal decay: “The last step — the final nail in the coffin is to participate in evil.” Referring to Amos 5:15—“hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the gate”—he urged believers to stand firm against practices

A National Vision for an Abortion-Free America

Mark Lee Dickson reinforced this truth-driven mission, emphasizing a unified national stance against abortion. Sharing his sidewalk ministry experiences, he recalled telling expectant mothers, “This is not God’s will for your life. God has chosen you to be a great mother to that child.” Citing Amos 5:15, Dickson called for local action to align communities with God’s will, decrying abortion pills and trafficking. He noted that facilities in New Mexico and Illinois target Texas residents, with 85-95% of clients at some clinics coming from Texas. Dickson advocated for local ordinances to close loopholes that bring young women across state lines for their abortions, urging attendees to sign petitions and elect pro-life local leaders. “We need to live in an abortion-free America,” he said, likening the fight to the abolition of slavery and echoing Beckwith’s call for truth over compromise.  Mark Lee stated “God has a desire to see our cities align themselves us with his will. Does God want abortion to be happening in any of our cities? No. Does God want abortion pills to be coming into our communities? No. Does God want abortion trafficking organizations to take individuals across state lines for abortion? No. We’re called to rescue those being led away to death. To stop those stumbling towards the slaughter. There’s not a part of Amos 5:15 that says, unless they cross the state line into Ohio or Illinois.”  Abortion centers in New Mexico, Illinois, Ohio and beyond are in the business of abortion tourism.  We need to close the loopholes.  It is time to declare cities abortion free sanctuary cities.

Protecting Mothers and Babies with Truth and Compassion

Representative Becky Cash, described by Beckwith as a “true fighter for life,” emphasized the heart of the pro-life movement. She highlighted the danger of abortion pills flooding Indiana, painting a vivid picture: “There is likely a teenager scared, sitting in a bathroom, alone, staring at four pills she got through the mail.” Cash praised Voices for Life’s door-to-door outreach, which educates and supports mothers, reflecting the Christian call to love others by speaking truth (Ephesians 4:15). She stressed that protecting life involves both action and compassion, urging attendees to support Voices for Life through donations and prayers. “Only our mighty God can end the unthinkable,” she said, aligning with Beckwith’s vision of unity around divine truth.

A Republican Party Rooted in Principle

Micah Beckwith, a self-described “Republican through and through,” rooted his stance in the party’s founding in Ripon, Wisconsin, where it championed a Creator-endowed inalienable right to life. Drawing parallels to Abraham Lincoln’s fight for liberty, he called for a renewed dedication to the God of life and liberty and today’s battle for the unborn.  His distinction between peacekeeping and peacemaking—citing Matthew 5:9, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God”—underscored that true peacemakers confront evil to establish justice, a principle central to Christian faith and the pro-life cause.

Beckwith shared a personal anecdote about a conversation with a Republican leader who urged him to “move on” from pro-life and traditional marriage stances, claiming the Supreme Court had settled these issues. “I told him, I won’t ever move on from either one of those issues because those issues matter to God,” Beckwith recounted. His defiance of such calls for compromise resonated deeply with the audience, who applauded his resolve to stand for truth regardless of political pressures

A Faith Community United in Truth

The event celebrated local organizations like Life Centers of Indianapolis, which support expectant mothers with pre- and post-birth care. Beckwith praised their “amazing job” and acknowledged volunteers from his own church who serve at their clinics. The presence of such organizations underscored the event’s message of reinforcing the need to defend life and promote truth. Dickson and Cash echoed this call, urging action through petitions, volunteering, and prayer to protect life at every stage. The $5,700 raised will fuel Voices for Life’s mission to uphold truth, ensuring the fight for life remains strong in Indiana and beyond. As Dickson envisioned, with unwavering commitment to God’s truth, an abortion-free America could be realized within 4 to 12 years—a goal rooted in the Christian faith’s call to stand for righteousness without compromise.
